About Elizabeth

I have practised matrimonial law almost exclusively since qualification. I trained at Hanne & Co but left the firm in 1990 to work in Hong Kong - for Hampton Winter & Glynn solicitors. Whilst there I co-wrote, 'Divorce and Separation in Hong Kong' published by Oxford University Press'.

I now deal mainly with more complex financial issues on relationship breakdown. I am a good listener; I will always look at the bigger picture and do my utmost to achieve an outcome to ensure my clients can move on in their lives without rancour but with financial security. I am a trained and enthusiastic collaborative lawyer. I am also an Accredited Resolution Specialist in 3 areas. I have 2 teenage children who I still seem to run around after. I enjoy cooking, skiing and walking.

About Peter

I worked in the city for 22 years for limited and public limited companies as Financial Director or Company Secretary before moving to the legal sector in 1992. I enjoy working in a busy high street practice where the accounts function is so integral to the firm's success. I manage a small but efficient team - Linda Heerah who has been at Hanne & Co far longer than me and Kelly Magenis who is our latest recruit.

I am proud that Hanne & Co has managed to go from strength to strength and that our daily accounts and general financial management are well organised and structured.Out of work I enjoy time with the family and all types of sport; I still play veterans football, while also following Barking Rugby Club, the team with which I played for many years.

About Jackie

I have specialised in family law since qualification and have been on the Law Society's Children Panel since 2000. I specialise in care and adoption proceedings in which I act for children, their parents and carers. I have a breadth of experience acting in cases involving allegations of abuse, emotional harm and neglect. I am also instructed by guardians where children are separately represented in disputes between their parents over such issues as residence and contact.

Before joining Hanne & Co I worked with people with drug and alcohol problems, many of them parents. It was this experience that first led me to want to work as a lawyer in care proceedings. I also advise on civil partnership issues, especially relating to children. I speak fluent German. Out of work I enjoy tending to my allotment and I am also an enthusiastic percussionist.

About Paulena

Prior to becoming a Consultant in the Child Care Department at Hanne & Co, I was a founding partner at Van Baaren & Wright ( establishd in 1997). I chose to specialise in care proceeding early in my career and am a member of the Law Society's Children Panel where I am a qualified Children's Representative. My role is to represent children, parents and other family members thorough what are always difficult and sensitive proceedings.

Moving to Hanne & Co has provided the opportunity of working within a large and well respected department where colleagues are always at hand to discuss any complex issues. Having completed my training at a firm in Putney in 1993 I have never strayed far from the area, living in South West London with my young family.

About Michael

I came to law after studying psychology, a subject which has helped me understand some of the more complex issues that I come across. I undertook a law conversion and the LPC in Bristol and then moved to Somerset to undergo my training. I come from a background which meant it was inevitable that I would find my preferred area in public child care law; both my parents work in the profession.

At Hanne & Co I work within a very strong team who are always there to consult; this means that my clients not only get my own expertise, they get the combined expertise of our entire department. I am passionate about all my cases and l always work to get the best possible result. Out of work I enjoy sport and the countryside.

About Emel

I joined Hanne & Co as a Legal Assistant. having been called to the Bar in July 2008. I am currently in the process of converting to become a solicitor. At present I am sat in the Private Family Law Department where I am gaining a wide range of experience in ancillary relief proceedings, disputes concerning children and injunction matters. The structure of the training allows for lots of responsibility whilst being guided by experienced solicitors. I have had opportunities to practice my advocacy skills before District and Circuit Judges. No two days in the office are ever the same. The work is constantly challenging and highly rewarding.

Outside of work I enjoy going to the gym, socialising with friends, travelling and attempting (rather poorly) to cook traditional Turkish dishes.

I read sociology at Sussex University before studying the Common Professional Examination at the same institution. I moved to London where I completed the Legal Practice Course at BPP Law School.

I then worked freelance as a police station representative on behalf of some of London's leading criminal law firms. I have successfully represented a number of high profile clients.

I have lots of experience with clients, espcially in advising them at the police station where they have been interrogated about their suspected involvement in murder, rape, GBH, firearms and other very serious offences.
