Two of our trainees, Vanessa Asante and Daniel Gray, were recently invited by the Oxford Law Society to discuss alternatives to corporate and commercial law. The talk took place at Jesus College Oxford on Friday 11th May.

Vanessa, who is set to qualify as a family solicitor in August 2018, explained to the students the importance of being absorbed and excited by your work. She went on to discuss the variety of experiences she has had in family law since joining Hanne. Vanessa discussed areas including child care law, divorce and domestic abuse accompanied by interesting case law.

Next up was one of our more recent arrivals, Daniel Gray, who joined the firm in July 2017. Daniel currently sits as a trainee in our employment department. Focussing on his experience outside of corporate and commercial law, he discussed his past work in international human rights and law centres. He went on to explain how this background has led him to find satisfaction in representing claimants in employment matters. He demonstrated how his interest in the area has recently flourished as a result of the day to day responsibility he enjoys at Hanne and Co.

Daniel and Vanessa had a great audience and look forward to coming back to speak to Oxford’s students next term.
