Run to the Beat

Alice Mathams, Jenny Ricketts and Emel Djevdet solicitors/trainees from Hanne & Co. ran the Run to the Beat Half Marathon on Sunday 28th October 2012 to raise money for the firm’s nominated charity for this year Back Up Trust. The route started and finished at the Greenwich O2 Arena with music stages along the route keeping the runners motivated. The atmosphere on the day was fantastic with over 12,000 runners stampeding along the route. All three girls completed the route in high spirits and finished with a great sense of achievement. So far the ladies’ fundraising efforts have smashed their target of £1,000 with the current total standing at almost £1,300 and still rising! This fundraising follows on from the Hanne & Co charity auction which raised almost £2,700 for Back Up Trust.

Back Up Trust do amazing work with individuals and families effected by spinal injuries. They raise awareness of spinal cord injuries and highlight the fact that spinal cord injury is permanent and can happen to anyone through accident or illness. Back Up Trust is the only charity in the UK that provides dedicated services for children and young people with a spinal cord injury. It provides wheelchair skills training, mentoring and rehabilitative activity courses. It also provides support to people to overcome the challenges of returning to work or school.
